Beat the winter blues with a "mini-Taste of Charleston" at the annual Heart & Soul Dip Dinner this Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Roosevelt Neighborhood Center. Located at 505 Ruffner Ave., the event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features a variety of soulful comfort foods and desserts.
Attendees can sample multiple dishes by purchasing tickets to exchange for "dips," or generous serving-spoon portions. Drinks and sides range from one to two tickets, while entrees and desserts are priced between two and four tickets.
This community event supports a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the Heart & Soul Dip Dinner directly benefit EERC’s senior programs, which provide seniors in Charleston’s East End with a safe environment for social engagement, peer interaction, learning opportunities, nutrition support and skills-building activities that enhance their quality of life.
“Our seniors are truly the heart and soul of our community,” said Bobby Robinson, president of the East End Resource Center. “With the continued support of our community partners and residents, we can ensure that our seniors remain connected, engaged, and supported.”
Following the success of last year’s event, the East End Resource Center is calling on the broader community, including local businesses, civic organizations, churches, and individuals, to help support this year’s fundraiser.
Tickets and additional event information are available by visiting EERCWV.org, emailing eercwv502@gmail.com, calling the event line at 681-385-3372, or contacting Bobby Robinson at 304-389-1700. There is also a Facebook event page for updates and easy sharing.
