On January 10, the Penn State Nittany Lions faced the No. 5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a historic game in Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida. It’s considered a classic, as the two programs are among the most decorated teams that haven’t snatched the big one for decades.

Nittany Lions haven’t hosted their flag as national champions since their winning campaign in 1986. Meanwhile, the Fighting Irish’s last national championship was in 1988. The two programs were strong leading up to the College Football Playoff but of course, one will be hailed the winner at the end of the match.
